The Lost Ones
2 Thessalonians 3:1-2
1 As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.
2 And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith.
You ever had the one person that you just couldn’t reach? It could have been a student, a player, or even one of your kids or a kid in the neighborhood. No matter what you did, they just couldn’t grasp the idea or circumstance. Everyone else around them was okay or had made the right decision…but this one. This one would tell the mountain that a molehill was larger. You have tried everything in your power to help or persuade the person, but to no avail.
There will some people that you will not reach because of their unbelief. No matter what you do; some people have their minds made up. Some will debate you from the front cover to the back and even some on specific topics. Some are so passionate, they will want to do you harm, but that shouldn’t stop you from doing your job. While writing this, Paul understood that this prayer request would be needed in the place he would go. Not because of the ones that believed, but for the ones that were strongly against. Look at the Civil Right Movement and what happened to those people that wanted change. They were severely beaten and even killed by those who didn’t have faith.
The Word is for everyone, but not everyone will receive it. For the ones that will, God bless you to continue in the faith. May God protect you from the wicked and evil ones seeking to destroy you. For the ones that will not, may your eyes be opened to the truth, before that mighty day.
